Want to be a part of Amplify Austin today and tomorrow, March 4-5? Here are some things to know.
The hashtag for Amplify Austin is #AmplifyATX. Follow along or add this to your tweets.
There is an Amplify Austin Facebook page, but it was just started today. So instead, tag the I Live Here, I Give Here page.
If you type in “amplifyaustin.org” you actually get the Entrepreneur’s Foundation page, which owned the URL before I Live Here, I Give Here came up with the name. They will post a redirect to the correct page.
Instead type in or search “Amplify Austin” or “amplifyatx.org”. The page you want redirects to “https://amplifyaustin.s3.amazonaws.com/events.html” which is a 100 perrcent-secure giving site.
HOW TO GIVE:
You have to use the tool. Only gifts given online using this tool between March 4 7PM and March 5 7PM count toward the $1 million goal. That being said, there are two ways to get to that tool:
1. Go to the AmplifyATX.org site, choose a nonprofit from the list and make your donation.
2. Go to the webpage of the nonprofit that you know is participating, and give using their specific, 100 percent-secure AMPLIFY AUSTIN page. Gifts given on the regular donation page of your favorite nonprofit are wonderful, but they do not count toward the $1 million goal. See this page for example.
WHEN TO GIVE:
They’re serious about it starting at 7 PM tonight. Some nonprofits are pushing for donors to give during a certain hour because I Live Here, I Give Here is awarding prizes for things like “most donors” and “most donations” during specific hours.
The great thing is, you have until tomorrow night at 7 PM to give, too. AND… you can totally give more than once!
LOTS OF EVENTS BY NONPROFITS:
Check out this list of kick-off events today and tomorrow all over town. Some offer free food and drinks…
CAN WE DO THIS?
$1 million in 24 hours? I mean, come on…. this is Austin!
