Of course you do. Everybody does.
Here is the very best way to get one: SXSW Interactive is looking for creative ways are people using tech or new media for good in your community. This is about the latest and greatest ideas in the social good/nonprofit space, not just your everyday blogger. They’re looking for stars.
The 2014 SXSW Interactive Scholarship Program is a way for SXSW to uncover people whose work (whether it’s a job, a hobby or volunteering) helps people through technology. They are looking for people from all over the world to be a part of SXSW next year.
So here’s what they want you to do: Just send in a 300-word essay by the deadline of 11:59pm CDT on July 26, 2013. Essays should answer the question, “Who is using technology or new media to do the most innovative work for good within their community?”
And here’s the fun part: If your nominee is selected, you and your nominee will win a FREE registration to SXSW Interactive, happening March 7-11, 2014. (What-what? Yes, you and your nominee get an Interactive badge if selected. Nice!) These nominees may also be considered for the 2014 Dewey Winburne Community Service Award. (Ahem, GivingCiy won one of these in 2011. We’re very proud.)
